a school day that feels like a breath of fresh air.

A school.

Creekside Cottage School is a school at its core. We teach kids academics in lessons that are shorter than traditional public schools so that we can meet their direct needs without losing a love of learning.

an Atmosphere.

We want students to build relationships with their teachers, each other, and what they are learning. We use multiage learning so that kids can learn and interact with anyone they are building connections with. We set our classrooms up to look more like home and less like a classroom. We are outside daily and with intention.

a Community.

We are small but we are connected. We have weekly field trips that families are invited to. We have 6 showcases a year for families to attend. Our student’s form incredible relationships during the day and those carry over into family relationships that include play dates, landline phone conversations, and parent friendships.

What that looks like

-Classrooms with 12 students per day

-Classrooms with more than one “grade” level

-Lessons taught based on skill level, not age

-Time outside at the beginning, end, and middle of our day

-Project time daily to let children become creative

-Field trips every week

-Offering families a variety of options for how often they attend school

What we DON’T do

  • Multiple hours a day for one subject

  • Large classes to continue to get larger

  • Focus or stress on grades for assignments

  • Report Cards

  • Desks

Registration begins in the fall
